Location. The Dolphin Hotel is a city centre, grade two listed property. The hotel is situated next to Southampton's main shopping centre and 15 miles away from the New Forest. Southampton Airport (SOU) is 7 miles from the hotel and takes approximately 15 minutes to reach by car.
Hotel Features. Housed in a 14th century former coaching inn, the hotel has a modern interior and features a permanent art collection. Guests can enjoy champagne cocktails in the adjacent Fruit bar, with its wooden floors and Georgian Rococo ceiling. Wireless Internet access is provided in public areas, and there are four meeting rooms for business guests. Further amenities include complimentary onsite parking and a concierge service.
The Dolphin Hotel offers two dining options: the Bleu Grill and Wine Gallery is a modern restaurant offering international dishes and an extensive wine list, and the Oak Bar combines oak panelling with contemporary furnishings, and serves snacks and drinks. A complimentary English breakfast is served to guests each morning.
Guestrooms. The 65 guestrooms have individual, contemporary decor, and beds feature artist designed headboards and Egyptian cotton sheets. Amenities include dial up Internet connections, LCD televisions, telephones, trouser presses, hair dryers, and coffee/tea makers.
Expert Tip. The city of Winchester, located 12 miles from the hotel, is notable for its 12th century Great Hall (the only surviving part of Winchester Castle), its spectacular Cathedral and the 14th century boys' public school Winchester College.

Getting there. Guests can travel to the hotel by train from Southampton Airport (Parkway) station, which is adjacent to the airport. Alternatively, taxis are available and cost approximately 10 GBP to the city centre (subject to change). Bus number 101 runs from the airport to the city centre and Southampton University.
Driving directions. From the M3, head towards Southampton Docks and turn onto the M27. At Junction 3, exit onto the M271. Follow signs for Old Waterfront or Isle of Wight Ferries, and take a left onto the High Street. The hotel is on the right, approximately half a mile up the road.
