Location. A showcase of Andalusian grandeur, the Hotel Alfonso XIII stands in Seville, Spain's historic center. The famed Seville Cathedral, Girlada and the Royal Alcazar Palace are located across the street.
Hotel Features. Named after the king who commissioned its construction in 1928, Hotel Alfonso XIII was originally built to house heads of state and high ranking guests of the 1929 Great Ibero American Exhibition. This palatial property reflects Mudejar Revival architecture with marble floors, wood paneled ceilings, Moorish lamps, ceramic hand painted tiles and antique furnishings. The hotel's dining options include complimentary buffet style breakfasts. San Fernando Restaurant serves Spanish and Mediterranean dishes, and features blue and clear glass leaded windows and dark wood furnishings. The Japanese style Kaede restaurant prepares sushi and teppenyaki. San Fernando Bar is located adjacent to the patio, and features live piano or violin music during evening hours. Seven multi purpose function rooms accommodate events, while a business center and wireless Internet access address guests' communication needs. A seasonal outdoor pool and tennis courts provide outdoor recreation.
Guestrooms. This hotel offers 147 air conditioned and soundproofed guestrooms. Accommodations feature Arabic, Castilian or Baroque style d�cor with floor length drapes, upholstered chairs, velvet sofas, carved wooden beds and wardrobes. Arabic style rooms display pale green color schemes and carved cornices. Castilian style guestrooms offer dusty pink or green color schemes and carved wooden ceilings with chandeliers. Baroque style guestrooms feature yellow, red, green or blue color schemes and wooden ceilings. Private bathrooms contain tub/shower combinations and are embellished with white and gold patterned tiles. Room amenities include laptop size safes and high speed Internet access.
Expert Tip. Seville is known worldwide as the center for flamenco music and dance. The hotel concierge can direct guests to shows at the most traditional flamenco cafes, or tablaos, where national and international artists entertain.
